   "text": "Dinner is cooked over an irori hearth: salted grilled ayu (sweetfish), miso-glazed tofu, and satoimo taro and konjac roasted over the coals. Meals are served in a semi-private room shared with two other tables, and OWHKG2016 found the food decent but nothing to write home about."

   "text": "The communal baths are what brings people here, and KI-NRT calls them the Disneyland of onsens: huge, indoor and outdoor, one the size of a small pool and another shallow enough to sleep in, with a fixed water pillow so your face stays above the water. The water is natural hot spring and there is plenty of it, flowing along the ground on the walk from the changing room. OWHKG2016 loved the baths here more than any on an eleven-night ryokan trip."

   "text": "The type-A rooms are relatively small but extremely cosy, functional and tastefully designed, each with a private outdoor onsen that OWHKG2016 particularly loved, and they sit to the side of the building so they get a private mountain view and more privacy. Type A is ideal for two people. The whole place opened in 2017 with a tasteful modern-Japanese look and is very new and very well maintained."
