 "summary": "Fufu Kyu-Karuizawa is a Fufu-brand hot-spring hotel in old Karuizawa, and the one member who has stayed, OWHKG2016, arriving straight from Fufu Nikko, called it a big letdown and would not go back. The restaurant is good and Kumoba Pond is at the doorstep, but poorly trained staff and a zoo-like courtyard layout spoiled the stay.    "text": "Service was the real letdown of OWHKG2016's stay. The staff were mostly quite young and not really well trained, and they call the result extremely unacceptable: the front desk was unmanned and reception ignored them when they came back in. This is the stay they would not repeat, and a year later they placed Fufu Kyoto alongside Kyu-Karuizawa at the opposite end of the brand from Fufu Nikko."

   "text": "The hotel is nicely decorated, but the rooms, the lounge and the restaurant all face the same small inner courtyard, so everyone can see you going in and out of your room, which struck OWHKG2016 as pretty much a zoo. Nobody in the thread has described the rooms themselves."
