"summary": "A five-room inn re-opened in 2024 a five-minute drive from the Jigokudani snow-monkey park, with large in-room onsen baths (bigger than Takinami's, by KI-NRT's research) and dinner served in-room or in private rooms. Ikyu guests put it at 4.86 over 90 reviews and mostly rave, though a minority found the kaiseki unmemorable and the main bath a walk to the older sister property. It looks promising, and the crowd largely loves it.",

A lounge pours free-flow craft beer, local juice and pudding."

Nobody says whether the water runs free from the source. Ikyu guests put the baths at 4.88."

Ikyu guests give service their highest mark (4.92) and describe well-paced, attentive staff, and the head chef comes to the table himself to finish the meat course, a visit guests divide on, some counting it a highlight and others a performance. Spheres_pnw wondered whether the effusive early reviews are unprompted, since the owner answers almost all of them on Google."

Ikyu guests put rooms at 4.83 and like the Nagano-themed amenities, the Japanese-made fixtures and the cleanliness of a new building. The smallest of the five is Shakunage, upstairs."

The inn is the newer annex of Yorozuya, whose retro main building stands just across the way, and Ikyu guests describe a peaceful, new and spotless place."
