Ayunosato
unscoredno first-hand write-up in the thread

An affordable inn in Hitoyoshi Onsen, the quiet hot-spring town in southern Kumamoto where Suiranrou is the famous name and Ayunosato is the alternative when it is full. Recent stays describe a decline. Fc912's summer-2025 visit was fine for the reasonable rate but the service was seriously lacking, because most of the staff were foreign trainees who had not been trained enough, and KI-NRT's friends on their third stay found the same thing and said it starts with an okami who is not very engaging and uses her mobile phone near reception. Fc912 would not return.

Bath
Ayunosato is in Hitoyoshi Onsen, a hot-spring town, but nobody in the thread has written about the baths here, so the water situation is unknown.
Service 2 / 5
Both recent stays complain about the service, and both point at the okami. Fc912 found most of the staff were foreign trainees who could not give the service expected, and saw the okami hanging out with friends in the common area. KI-NRT's friends on their third stay made the same remark: she used her phone near reception (a big no-no in Japanese hospitality), never greeted guests, and at dinner said only "do you want some sake?".
Room
Nobody in the thread has written about the rooms here.
Place 3 / 5
Hitoyoshi Onsen is in southern Kumamoto, which is not much of a tourism hotspot, because most travelers to the prefecture go to Amakusa, the Mt. Aso region or Kumamoto City and its castle, and Fc912 found the town a bit in the middle of nowhere. Fc912 stopped there only to break up the long drive from Kirishima up to Amakusa, and the town's famous inn is Suiranrou; Ayunosato is where Fc912 ended up when Suiranrou was fully booked.
