Bettei Itsuki is a Yufuin ryokan that one family in the thread has stayed at, with very good food and free sake at dinner, indoor and outdoor onsen in the room and a somewhat self-service style that still produced considerate touches for a toddler. Bristom liked it and found the value good, but said he would have picked Gekkoju Yufuin had he not overlooked it when planning, in a town stacked with strong rivals. KI-NRT names it among the area's top contenders without having stayed.

Scores

Food 4 / 5

Bristom called the food very good, and the dinner menu has a free alcohol section with sake and more. Breakfast is served in a private room in the restaurant with a view. He named no individual dishes.

Bath 4 / 5

The Karin room has its own indoor and outdoor onsen baths, set right next to each other, and Bristom enjoyed them on his family's stay. Nobody in the thread has written about any shared baths or the water here.

Service 3.5 / 5

The inn runs a bit self-service by design, but the staff think ahead: they pushed the two separate beds together so Bristom's baby could sleep in the middle without being asked, and like the other Kyushu inns on his trip it welcomes children and provides yukata, utensils, meals, chairs and even gifts for them.

Room

Bristom stayed in the Karin room, which has two separate beds (pushed together for his baby) and its own indoor and outdoor onsen baths. Nobody in the thread has described the room beyond that.

Place

Bettei Itsuki is in Yufuin, which KI-NRT calls a very crowded field of top properties (Sanso Murata, Enowa, Yufuin Rikka, Gekkoju Yufuin and Kamenoi Besso among them). Breakfast is served in a private room in the restaurant with a view, and the Hells of Beppu are nearby.
