Uoshizu
D · 4.9 / 10the evidence warns
A Yugawara ryokan that is a cautionary tale about the bottom of the price range. At roughly 30,000 yen for two with kaiseki half-board, benihana320 found the service lacking and the building a little run-down, and KI-NRT's response was blunt: you cannot expect awesomeness at that price. The one stay in the thread ended in disappointment and benihana320 would not return.
Scores
Food 3 / 5
The kaiseki meals are the one part of benihana320's May 2025 stay that drew no complaint: the food was not too bad, which is as far as the praise goes, and no dish is named.
Bath
Uoshizu is in Yugawara, a hot-spring town, but nobody in the thread has written about the baths here, so the water situation is unknown.
Service 2.5 / 5
The quality of service was lacking on benihana320's May 2025 stay, and that was the main disappointment. benihana320 had not thought of Uoshizu as a cheap pick and left asking the thread what the price floor now is for excellent service in a well-kept building; KI-NRT's answer was that at Uoshizu's rate for two, half board included, you cannot expect awesomeness.
Room 2.5 / 5
The building seemed a little run-down to benihana320 in May 2025, and that is the extent of it; nobody in the thread describes the rooms themselves.
Place
Uoshizu is in Yugawara, but nobody in the thread has written about the location or the grounds here.
